Lewis's story Lewis sitting on a chair

Lewis started on MOVE four years ago.  He used to sit in a fully supportive chair and was very immobile. He had a severe visual impairment and was not happy about moving about on his own.

Lewis is now sitting on an ordinary classroom chair and can independently manoeuvre himself in and out of a pacer.

He has made such huge progress in walking that he now only needs handles on his gait trainer.  When he first started using it, he used all of the prompts, most importantly the saddle as he was learning to take his own weight.

Lewis is now out and about in his gait trainer all of the time and as a direct result of being able to explore his environment his eye sight has actually improved!  This is something that no-one ever expected to happen! the MOVE

Lewis is a happy and confident boy who has made enormous progress physically, cognitively and socially.
