MOVE video

By far the best way to see the MOVE Programme is through the visual medium of video.  A new MOVE Awareness video was filmed in October 2002.  It brings to life the benefits that MOVE brings to the lives of people with disabilities and to all those who live / work with them.

The film is now available in 3 minute DVD and CD-Rom format.

Manual for children (under 16)

This sets out the six steps: assessment, goal setting, task analysis, measuring prompts, reducing prompts and teaching the skills. It instructs on how to select and choose equipment. It provides assessment and prompt reduction charts and introduces the ‘Top-Down-Motor Milestone Assessment’ (the key to progress). The assessment is used to determine the current level of ability which forms a starting point for learning new skills.

This new Manual has been designed in conjunction with Centaur Training Ltd and includes all the relevant manual handling procedures required for the safe delivery of the MOVE programme. £90.00 per copy.

Manual for adults (16 plus)

This manual is an adaptation of the Children's manual.  The theory of MOVE remains the same, but necessary changes have been made to the text and to the artwork, most importantly taking into account the different manual handling techniques which are required for larger people. £90.00 per copy.

The MOVE assessment profile

This is for use in conjunction with the MOVE Programme. The Profile includes the ‘Top-Down-Motor Milestone Assessment’ and a summary of assessment results, along with instructions and activity sheets.

One copy of the Profile should be maintained for each MOVE student and used to record decisions regarding steps of the MOVE Programme. As a record keeping resource, the Profile can form part of Individual Education Plans and Therapy Outcomes.

This is now available in two different versions, one for children and one for adults.  Both can be purchased from MOVE central office for £5.00 per copy.
