Moving House to France

Moving to France – DIY or Removal Company

France is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. It is a country that is filled with excitement and culture. This is why many people choose to move to France. Some choose permanently while other choose to move temporary. Whether you are moving temporary or permanently, you will need to move your personal belongings. However, moving house to France can be a major cause of stress. Think of the last time you moved! The boxes, the furniture, the broken ornaments, the lost documents, the tiredness, the arguments with family members, the exhaustion and the not finding the things that you need the most at the times that you need them the most!

When moving your personal belonging to France, you have two options:

You can choose to move your belongings to France yourself.

You can hire a Removal Company to move your belongings to France.

Moving to France – the DIY Option

Although it is possible to move your personal belongings to France yourself, it is not very practical. At first, this may seem to be the most suited option to you, especially if you are short on cash; however, moving to France without using a removal company has its disadvantages.

Some of these disadvantages include:

You will have to take care of all of the logistics involved with getting your belongings to France.

You will need to carry all of the heavy items yourself.

You will need to consider parking and access permission.

You will need to take care of on and offloading.

You should only choose the DIY option if:

You own a large van or have access to one

You do not have a lot of personal belongings to take

You are prepared to make more than one trips.

You have prior moving experience and knowledge of the country.

Moving to France – Using a Removal Company

It is without a doubt that using a removal company is the best option to moving to france. But, how can you trust people that you do not know with your personal belongings? Will they take care of your personal belonging and ensure that they arrive safely to the destination? Certainly! You can be sure that your move to France will be stress-free and will be executed with as little mistakes as possible, if you hire a removal company:

that is experienced in removals to France

that has the knowledge and expertise needed

that has insurance just in case something unexpected happens

that plans your removal in a sensible and logical manner

What to Expect from a Removal Company?

Many people hire removal companies and still want to be in control of everything. It is your responsibility to make sure that the process is going the way that you would like it to go but you must remember that the employees form the removal firms are experts in their fields and as such, you should listen to their advice. If they advise you against doing something or packing something in a specific manner, you should listen to them. If they till you that an item will not fit in a given space, you should listen to them. Allow them to pack themselves and to unpack once they are arrive to make sure that all items have arrived undamaged. You should never make the mistake of telling them that you will unpack the merchandise yourself, only to contact them later on calming that items have been damaged. They will most likely not reimburse you for the damaged items due to the fact that they have no proof that the item was damaged before you remove it from the box.

Moving to France – Valuable Moving Tips

Here are a few valuable tips that you should take into consideration when moving to France.

Do not book your removal company at the last moment. The earlier you book, the better the price and the more time available for the company to properly plan your removal.

Try not to move to France during the busiest time in the year. The best months to move to France are June, July and August.

Make sure that all legalities are taken care of well in advance to avoid arriving with a van full of your belonging with no place to put them in.

Verify in advance if there are any obstructions which may hinder access to the property and will need to be taken care of in advance.

Be sure to make your removal aware of any problems that occur once they arrive to your destination.
