• MOVE celebrates National MOVE Day 2013 and names two new Centres of Excellence

  May 23^rd marked National MOVE Day and saw over 30 schools celebrate with MOVE-at-the-MOVIES events. MOVE Day is a nationwide event, held in schools, recognising the achievements made by children on the MOVE Programme over the last year. This years theme was MOVE-at-the-MOVIES, which saw pupils re-enact scenes from famous films and presented with ‘Oscars’ – amongst other film related activities.
  
  

  National MOVE Day provided the ideal platform to name two new MOVE Centres of Excellence – the 16^th and 17^th – to achieve such a status. The schools are;

  • Ivy House School in Derby
  • Crownbridge School in Torfaen

  Both schools were given commemorative plaques at the end of their MOVE Day celebrations and were attended by parents and members of the respective local authorities.

• Brookfields Specialist SEN School wins National MOVE Day's First Prize

  Brookfields Specialst SEN School, in Tilehurst, Reading, have been awarded 1st place prize winners of the National MOVE Day competition - organised by the charity the MOVE Partnership. The award saw Brookfields School presented with their prizes of a £500 equipment voucher kindly donated by Jenx, manufacturer of postural support products for children, three FREETALK Buddy Cam and headset’s for Skype and the MOVE Day Winners trophy....Read more

  Two London schools - Tuke School in Lewisham and Willow Dene in Greenwich – have been awarded the MOVE Quality Mark and named Centre of Excellence status respectively....Read more
